Western Oregon Cascades Library (#11)
Developed by Forest Biometrics,
LLC. Originally developed in 1995 at a cost of $5,000 per company as a
one-time research cooperative project. The Library is now maintained by
the FBRI with updates occurring as necessary and distributed to Institute
members only.
Western Washington Library (#12)
Developed
by Forest Biometrics, LLC. Originally developed in 1996 at a cost of $5,000
per company as a one-time research cooperative project. The Library is
now maintained by the FBRI with updates occurring as necessary and distributed
to Institute members only.
East Central Washington Library (#13)
Developed
by Forest Biometrics, LLC. Originally developed in 1997 as a one-time research
cooperative project. The Library is now maintained by the FBRI with updates
occurring as necessary and distributed to Institute members only.
North
Idaho & Western
Montana Library (#14)
Also known as the Bitterroot Range Library of Idaho
and Montana. Developed by Forest Biometrics, LLC. Originally developed
in 1998 as a one-time research cooperative project. The Library is now
maintained by the FBRI with updates occurring as necessary and distributed
to Institute members only.
East Central Oregon Library (#15)
Developed
by Forest Biometrics, LLC. Originally developed in 1998 as a one-time research
cooperative project. The Library is now maintained by the FBRI with updates
occurring as necessary and distributed to Institute members only.
Northern
California Library (#16)
Developed by Forest Biometrics Research Institute
in 2006. Many permanent plot datasets are still being analyzed and further
refinements will be released as they are completed. This Library is maintained
by the FBRI with updates occurring as necessary and distributed to Institute
members only.
Oregon Coastal Range Library (#17)
Developed by Forest
Biometrics Research Institute in 2006. Originally developed in 1995 as
part of Library #11, but site productivity differences between the Oregon
Coast Range and the Oregon Cascade Range became evident in 2004-2005. The
growth dynamics of a particular species is not greatly different between
the Coast and the Cascades, but the growth dynamics between species is
significantly different. Each landowner is advised to collect and analyze
site productivity information by species for their own forest landbase.
This local productivity information is key to calibrating the taper, site
and growth dynamics of mixed-species stands in this region. The Library
was produced and is maintained by the FBRI with updates occurring as necessary
and distributed to Institute members only. Land managers who gather and
analyze local site productivity data in this region should contact FBRI
for assistance in calibrating and customizing their Species Library to
their own landbase.
Southeast Alaska Library (#20)
Developed by Forest
Biometrics Research Institute in 2006. Originally developed in 2005 based
on cooperative agreements with the USFS Experiment Station pertaining to
permanent plot installations in Western Hemlock and Sitka Spruce throughout
Southeast Alaska. The Library is maintained by the FBRI with updates occurring
as necessary and distributed to Institute members only.
Central Montana
Rockies Library (#21)
Developed by Forest Biometrics Research Institute
in 2006. The Library was developed and is maintained by the FBRI with updates
occurring as necessary and distributed to Institute members only. There
is only limited permanent plot data available in this region, but FBRI
is expanding efforts to locate and establish a more robust research database
for this region.
Other Regional Species Libraries are under development
to localize parameters for Pacific Northwest coastal forests, Oregon Cascade
Range, North Idaho, Coastal British Columbia, and Southeast Alaska.
